DAY 1 of Baltic Impressions Tour (FRIDAY) Arrival in Tallinn
Arrival in Tallinn, optional airport transfer can be organised to Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia**** or similar hotel in Tallinn, check-in, welcome meeting with our Baltic tour guide. Please ask at the hotel reception for details.
DAY 2 of Baltic Impressions Tour (SATURDAY) Tallinn-Cesis
Breakfast at the hotel. We start our Baltic Tour with the trip to the Lahemaa National Park and visit to the Manor House in Palmse. Next on our route is the town of Tartu, which is known the university harbour. Enjoy the tour of the beautiful Old Town. We continue our Baltic Tour drive towards to Latvia and we have an overnight stay in Cesis. Cesis is a fusion of medieval history and modern life. Its a Hanseatic city with its castle ruins and wonderful greenery. Check-in at the Hotel Cesis*** or similar hotel.
DAY 3 of Baltic Impressions Tour (SUNDAY) Cesis-Vilnius
We continue the Baltic Tour through the Gauja National Park to Sigulda, a popular holiday resort.Sigulda is located 53 km away to the East from Riga in the Gauja River valley. This small town is one of the most picturesque towns in Latvia and is often referred to as "the small Latvian Switzerland” because of the beautiful mountainous region. The past of the town is rich in historical events. There were castles built in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knight's Order and Riga's Bishop: Sigulda in 1207, Turaida in 1214 and Krimulda in 1252 out of which only the Turaida Castle has remained. Nowadays, Sigulda is a centre of the Gauja National Park. Sigulda is the most popular tourist and leisure destination as well as a famous place for winter sports competitions with a bob sleight route, which is one of the best in the world, and the downhill skiing routes. We see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the ruins of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword before we head towards Riga to hit the highway down to Vilnius. En route we reach Siauliai and Hill of Crosses. We reach Vilnius in the late afternoon. Check in at Hotel Radisson Blu Lietuva**** or similar standard hotel in Vilnius.
DAY 4 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (MONDAY) Vilnius-Nida
Vilnius is famous with it beautiful medieval architecture, Old Town and numerous churches. The morning Vilnius sightseeing tour offers a panoramic tour of the city. A walking part of the tour will follow, you will see Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anne’s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn. After the tour we head to Curonian Split and Nida Check in at Hotel Nerija**** or similar standard hotel. You are invited to join an optional itinerary dinner at authentic fishermen "Tik Pas Jonas".
DAY 5 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (TUESDAY) Nida-Liepaja
Morning is reserved for a half-day optional tour to the Curonian Spit, a thin, sand curved-sand dune split, stretching for 100 km between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. Charming small old fishing villages, healing dense pine forests and beautiful sand dunes are part of the scenery. Visit on the route is the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante. Afterwards we head towards Liepaja, where we arrive in the late afternoon. Check in at the Hotel Promenade***** or similar hotel. We are offering an optional evening dinner at the beach cafe Red Sun Buffet.
DAY 6 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (WEDNESDAY) Liepaja-Riga
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of Liepaja, including the walk around the Old Town to see Trinity Church, Jurmala Park, Naval Port area and its beautiful Orthodox Church. We head North into Latvia and reach Riga in the afternoon, check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija**** or similar standard hotel in Riga. An optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral in the Old Town is offered in the evening, it is worth a visit.
DAY 7 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (THURSDAY) Riga
Riga is over 800 years old, it was founded by the German bishop Albert and is the biggest and busiest of the three Baltic State capitals. Riga is proud to offer a wide variety of culture, history, art and architecture, including Art Neauveau. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument. The afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. In the evening, enjoy an optional Latvian dinner at the stylish Restaurant Three.
DAY 8 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (FRIDAY) Riga-Tallinn
Breakfast at hotel. Departure for Tallinn. Our drive lies along the coastal road to the summer resort of Parnu, Estonia. We do a short tour of the resort and a leisurely walk on the beach. We continue our journey through North Estonian land of forests to Tallinn, check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia**** or similar.
DAY 9 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (SATURDAY) Tallinn
Tallinn is a beautiful modern city, it boast a jaw dropping Old Town. Tallinn’s medieval Old Town is known around the world for it’s authentic architecture. Enjoy the cobblestone streets and houses dating back as far as to 11th century, visit few of the local art and crafts show rooms, galleries, museum to indulge in small cosy cafés or restaurants and buy travel memorabilia from summer or Christmas open air Hanseatic fairs. There are numerous shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafees and restaurants in the old town. The sightseeing tour takes you around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, the Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medieval Old Town Hall. In the afternoon an optional tour is offered to Kadriorg Park with a visit to KUMU art museum. The evening offers an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Maikhrav in Tallinn Old Town.
Day 10 of Baltic Tour - Impressions (SUNDAY) Departure from Tallinn
Optional transfer to the airport of Tallinn can be organised upon your request.
